Triumph Tail Tidy Kit: license plate holder, LED tail light, and plug-and-play harness
Designed by Motone Customs, a renowned British specialist in premium Triumph accessories, this third-generation (V3) kit brings together everything you need to redesign the rear of your modern Bonneville in one purchase. The glossy black ELDORADO tail light provides an LED light signature that contrasts with the original plastic light unit.
The ELDORADO light features a downward-facing LED matrix for license plate illumination, meeting regulatory requirements without the need for a separate illuminator.
New features of the Motone V3 license plate holder: adjustment, height, and optional indicators
Compared to previous generations, the V3 incorporates several concrete improvements based on community feedback:
- Slotted plate/light bracket: an adjustment slot allows you to move the assembly forwards or backwards to adapt the positioning to your saddle line.
- Additional spacer: manual adjustment of the tail light height, useful if you mount a custom saddle that is higher or lower than the original.
- Optional indicator brackets: install them in the rear position as provided in the kit, or remove them if you wish to relocate the indicators elsewhere.
Compatibility of the Tail Tidy Plate 3.0: Triumph water-cooled twin-cylinders 2016–2026
This kit is developed for the entire range of liquid-cooled twin-cylinder Triumph models from 2016 onwards. Here are the compatible models:

Attention: Speed Twin 900 models from 2025 onwards and Scrambler 900 models from 2026 onwards adopt a new chassis. This kit is not compatible with these model years; a specific version is currently under development at Motone.
Plug-and-play wiring harness for Triumph: 6 original connectors + auxiliary socket
The included wiring adapter connects directly to the 6 original connectors of the Triumph harness without cutting or soldering. Each circuit is identified by both a color code and a letter code; the wires are grouped by function and labeled for intuitive installation, even for a novice in motorcycle electrical systems.
An additional auxiliary connector is available to power an additional accessory (dashcam, USB charger, GPS, etc.) directly from the rear harness, without wild tapping.
The 6-way connector is hermetically sealed to prevent any water ingress, even during high-pressure washing or prolonged rain.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this kit compatible with my Triumph Scrambler 1200?
- No. This kit is designed for liquid-cooled twin-cylinders of the modern Bonneville family (900 cc engine). The Scrambler 1200 has a different architecture and chassis. It is not compatible.
Is the license plate well illuminated despite the discreet light?
- Yes. The ELDORADO light integrates a dedicated LED matrix oriented downwards, specifically designed for license plate illumination. The installation complies with homologation requirements for license plate lighting.
Do I need to modify my bike's original wiring?
- No. The supplied adapter connects directly to the 6 original harness sockets without cutting or soldering. The 6-way connector is hermetically sealed to prevent any water ingress.
Can I mount my indicators in a different location than specified?
- Yes. The indicator brackets supplied in the kit are entirely optional. You can choose not to use them and reposition your indicators wherever you wish on the bike.
My Speed Twin 900 is a 2025 model: is this kit compatible?
- No. Speed Twin 900 models from 2025 onwards and Scrambler 900 models from 2026 onwards adopt a new chassis incompatible with this V3 kit. Motone is working on a dedicated version for these model years.
Is there a socket available to connect an additional accessory?
- Yes. In addition to the brake light, running light, left and right indicator circuits, the harness includes an auxiliary live connector (code A, green wire + black ground) to power a GPS, a USB charger, or any other 12V device.
