Following two years of research and development, Fuel Motorcycles , the specialist in premium vintage motorcycle gear, has created its new FUEL 3CORE fabric, using single-layer tri-core technology.
The opportunity for the famous Spanish brand to review its emblematic pants, the SERGEANT . Its new version, the SERGEANT 2 ( see the other colors available ) benefits from tri-core technology for a perfect combination with your equipment and allowing you to assert a unique style.
The new Sergeant 2 SAHARA pants effectively combine performance and functionality. Its particularity, in addition to its quilting and its suede bands, is to be a single layer pants.
Differences between double layer and single layer motorcycle pants
If traditionally, motorcycle pants are lined, now the technology allows to improve the resilience and comfort from a single layer .
In general, a double layer trouser consists of:
- an outer layer in Denim;
- a Kevlar-type abrasion-resistant inner lining;
- sometimes a layer of mesh to ventilate and protect the skin from the abrasive fabric.
The FUEL 3CORE single-layer fabric, from Fuel Motorcycles , is, for its part, designed with a single layer made up of three threads :
- polyamide;
- cotton ;
- spandex.
The abrasion resistant fiber is woven directly into the material instead of being added by a separate layer.
Advantages of Sergeant 2 Sahara monolayer
Unlike double-layered motorcycle pants, the Sergeant 2 Sahara pants are lighter , less bulky and more comfortable , which is particularly valuable once you get off the bike .
Another advantage , and not the least, it offers the same protective efficiency while preventing you from suffering from the heat generated by the use of double-layer pants on hot summer days.
Optimal safety, comfortable to wear on or off the bike, the Sergeant pants benefit from level 2 protections for the knees and hips . It is guaranteed by the current highest certification : CE/UKCA AAA .

Features of FUEL 3CORE fabric
The technology combining three threads (polyamide, cotton and elastane), used for the design of the FUEL 3CORE fabric, makes it possible to obtain a single-layer fabric with high abrasion resistance while ensuring better comfort of use and a lighter weight.
